I’m so happy that I met Drew and his family. His mama is so precious and shared her heart about losing her first son at 28 weeks pregnant just a year ago. It was so important to her to honor baby Landon in this session, so we included a special photo of both of them, both posed with their parent’s wedding rings. If you don’t know what a “rainbow baby” is, it’s the birth of a healthy child after losing a baby to miscarriage or stillbirth. It represents the rainbow after a horrendous dark storm in life. So I ordered a sweet rainbow hat for Drew so I could do the photo his mama wanted so badly. Speaking to her really solidified my desire to volunteer for “Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep”, a non-profit foundation who provides free newborn portraiture for babies who have died in the womb or shortly after. I was not who did their photos of Landon, but I know those photos of him are so valuable and cherished to this family.
Baby Drew is a healthy and beautiful baby boy who couldn’t be loved any more than he is! It was my honor and joy to get to know this family and to photograph such a precious and anticipated baby boy! One of the photos below of mama shows big tears in her eyes as she held him and kissed him in a moment she called surreal. I had tears just watching! Did I mention that I adore my “job”???
